Winter Salute

Starry Starry Night

Winter nights are always synonymous with solitude and cold.
But not in the Cairngorms!

Listen.

The sound of snow falling, the crackle of burning wood, the crisp clink of cups and glasses. Celtic folk songs are popular.

Smell. The crispness of a snowy forest night, the warm aroma of burning pine, the sweet and creamy smell of roasting chestnuts and sweet potatoes, the wine and fruity aroma of mulled wine.

Watch. The warmth of the fire reflects on everyone's smiling faces.

The moment the fire goes out, look up, it's a river of stars like you've never seen in the city! A curtain of darkness dotted with diamond-like stars, lingering in a halo of purple or green, a dreamy beauty.

Our bonfire will
kick off at 8pm at Macdonald Aviemore Woodland Lodges

Participants will join together to light a bonfire and celebrate this wonderful winter night!

We will have performing artists from the cairngoms playing traditional songs and dances, and guests will enjoy singing and dancing while enjoying our limited winter gin and food roasted over the campfire.

As the evening draws to a close and the bonfire dies down, look up and admire the river of stars shining for you in the night.
